Accommodation: 16 en-suite, open rooms with king-size beds and overhead fans inside large flowing mosquito nets. 11 rooms are situated on the waterfront and 5 are slightly set back and elevated. All bedrooms, sitting room, bar and dining areas overlook the calm waters of the bay. Breakfast and lunches are served in the airy dining room. Dinners are served under the stars, among the palm trees on the sand. There is a games room beside an infinity pool.

Activities: Cruise on Utamaduni, our 60 ft traditional sailing dhow. Scenic flights over the Tana Delta and the Dodori National Reserve to see the abundant wildlife. Cultural visits to Takwa Ruins, or Lamu – a World Heritage Site. Spectacular bird-watching by boat. Wildlife spotting in the bush behind the lodge. Stroll along 14 km of empty beach. Walk through the 9th century ruins scattered amongst the giant baobab trees. Fly-fishing or conventional deep-sea fishing charters on our two fully equipped deep sea fishing boats. Cheza (33ft) and Shakina (38 ft catamaran). Creek or inshore fishing in skiffs. Water-sports include windsurfing, water-skiing, wake-boarding, air chair, banana boating, tubing, laser sailing, snorkelling and kayaking. Massages, manicures and pedicures. Sundowners and stargazing on the sand dunes.
