Manda Special and Refurbishment

Special

Manda Bay is running a special that offers 20% DISCOUNT on any stay of three nights or longer. This discount applies to the full cost of accommodation, and will run from 15th June – 15th December 2010 as well as 3rd January – 30th April 2011. Please see the attached document for further information.

Refurbishment

Manda Bay is in the process of refurbishing rooms 1,2,4,6,8,9 & 10. All will have new enlarged bathrooms, with tiled flooring rather than the traditional makeka matting. Each bedroom will have new matting, whilst public areas of the main lodge will benefit from new soft furnishings and furniture throughout, including in the pool house.

Refurbishment at Richard's Camp

Richard’s Camp has undergone a pre-season refurbishment and spruced up all their vehicles, tents and bathrooms. Sheets and towels are being replaced, and the bathrooms in the main camp have been rebuilt. Vehicles now have folding windscreens and leather bound game viewing bars. Richard and Liz are in the Mara at the moment preparing for their first guests, and will be in the camp hosting and guiding for the whole season.

Roberts' Safaris Mobile Camps

We’re very excited to be offering a NEW ADVENTURE PRODUCT operated by Robert’s Safaris. The two mobile camps can be set up anywhere in the country. One camp is a desert mobile, especially designed for hot conditions and areas such as Northern Kenya, whilst the other camp is a standard luxury mobile camp. Accommodation is supremely comfortable inside fully equipped tents each with ensuite bathrooms that have running water and flushing toilets. The new venture promises to open up new undiscovered areas of the country.

Sirikoi Expands

Sirikoi is delighted to have added the new two bedroom cottage to the camp, which is perfect for families of groups of friends. The cottage boasts two enormous ensuite rooms, and a large central living room that leads out onto a spacious verandah with stunning views out to the waterhole. In addition, Willie and Sue are building a new three bedroom exclusive use house which will be available from December 2010. This new unit will be accessible entirely separately, making it perfect for families.

Lemarti and Boniface in the USA!

Lemarti and Boniface recently travelled to the USA to film a culture swop (or shock) documentary for National Geographic Channel. You can see some of their antics online if you click here. Now back at Lemarti’s Camp, these two characters are entertaining guests as much as ever with their stories of the marathon in New York, fainting goats in Texas, buying cowboy boots and meeting American football players. Don’t forget that Lemarti’s Camp has a fantastic 4 for 3 special (see below).

Roger Sylvester has left SCC Kenya to pursue personal projects. Roger put in place the foundation blocks for SCC, establishing a smooth running office and set of systems, for which we are all most grateful. His constant good humour is missed in the office!
